PHOTOGRAPHY

Here you will find a random selection of my analog photographs. I take pictures of things that inspire me, or things that I think will inspire you, or then I just take pictures of things because I am bored. Either way, I hope you like them!

If you're interested in buying any of my pieces (and are located in Switzerland), feel free to check out my Pablo Art profile! If the photo you want isn't on there, send me a PM!

NEW ZEALAND POST 2: TONGARIRO CROSSING

When we were preparing for the Tongariro Crossing, Yves and I were positively concerned: Warning signs everywhere told us this was a difficult hike, telling us to be sure we could handle it. We wondered. The Pinnacles was pretty difficult already. Could we really handle this one?

It turns out that the difference between Pinnacles and Tongariro is that hardly any tourists try to do Pinnacles. I suppose the warnings were cautioning those who thought Tongariro would be a fun, quick outing, and came in flipflops and a picknick basket. It took us an hour less than Pinnacles did, and most of it was prepared so nicely for the 2500 tourists who did it everyday – walkways over difficult stretches of land, a staircase leading up to the top, toilets every couple of kilometres... I was definitely tired at the end, and very glad to finish, but on the whole, I was amused. But despite fact that I felt it was overhyped, the views were still incredible.

These photos were taken with my Minolta Dynax 500si Super, with a Kodak Ultramax film (400 ISO).

NEW ZEALAND POST 1: THE PINNACLES

The hike to the Pinnacles is probably one of the most beautiful hikes I've done. The hike itself is exciting with changing landscapes, steep climbs and actual rungs to climb up to the top. While you're clambering up the hill, you get to enjoy incredible views of waterfalls, mountains and the ocean in the distance. In total, this one took us around 7 hours excluding breaks. I would recommend this 10/10!

SPRING 2017: VALLEY VERCASCA

This spring, Yves and I visited Tessin and finally realised why everyone here loves it so much. It really is like going to Italy. Palm trees line the roads and the atmosphere is really like that on a Piazza in Italia. Here are the photos that my Minolta produced (with a slide film, for the first time in a long time).

JUNE 2017: CHÂTEAUNEUF DU PAPE

At the beginning of June, I took a short trip to go and visit Yves near Châteauneuf du Pape. We visited the towns in the vicinity, going to the market in Orange (yes, a town called "Orange", how awesome is that?) and coffee shop hopping in Avignon. These are the photos that came out of my polaroid during those four days.

BLACK AND WHITE HIKE 2014

Here are some photos that I took on a hike in 2014. I used a Minolta Dynax 500si Super.

The black and white photos were taken with an 35mm Ilford XP2 Super 400 film.

FLYING OVER SWITZERLAND 2016

I've finally decided to upload the photos that I was lucky enough to take when I was invited to sit in the back of a tiny plane over Switzerland. These were taken with my Minolta Dynax 500si Super, and I would guess the film was a Kodak Gold 200 ISO.

RIGA 2016

My trip to Riga in 2016 was wonderful. My photographs from that trip did not reflect the fantastic time that we spent there. I did, however, discover a few surprises when I went through my scans. These photos were taken with my Minolta Dynax 500si Super; I think the film was an ordinary 35mm, 200 ISO, possibly Fuji Superia.

MY OBSESSION WITH BIKES

I know that, in today's context, people are obsessed with Teslas and segways. For me, though, the most incredible thing ever invented was the bicycle. The concept is so simple, yet so intricate, it fascinates me! I feel that, as long as I have a functioning bicycle, I can not be stopped. Bikes are the whole package: sporty, environmentally friendly and stylish. So even though not all the bikes that I take pictures of are made of melons, I do find that they are a more than adequate object for my camera.

Cameras: Minolta Dynax 500si Super, Kodak Fun Saver (disposable), Diana Mini
